Key Lime is an evergreen perennial fruit shrub/tree.

Key lime (Citrus aurantifolia) is originated from Southeast Asia and is commonly harvested in Florida Keys (USA). It is a hybrid citrus plant that grows vigorously once you plant it in the ground, reaching heights of 6 1/2 to 13 feet (2 to 4 m.) tall with fruit typically measuring about one to two inches in diameter.

Key lime trees have fragrant flowers with deep green leaves and yellow-green limes that are about the size of a golf ball.

Key limes are the preferred fruit used by bartenders and pie bakers around the world.

Water moderately, letting the top 2 inches of soil to dry before watering young plants, and the top 3 inches of soil to dry before watering older plants (2 years or above).

Key limes grow best between 55° and 85° F (12 to 30 °C). Indoor temperatures averaging 65° F (18°C) are conducive to growth if the light is adequate.

It loves bright light but avoids excess heat, which will dry out the soil too quickly. In the landscape, they enjoy full sun. A location that provides morning sun or filtered light throughout the day is ideal.

Generally, Key lime trees need only limited pruning. Prune only to shape trees, to remove about 1/3 of the roots. Re-pot with a blended potting soil. This will encourage new roots and keep it growing happily.(

(Flowering plants only blossom naturally in their respective seasons. Fruit bearing plants only produce fruits naturally during their growing seasons. All plants are sold in generic nursery pots, and may naturally vary in colors/sizes from the exact images illustrated above.)
