Ixora Chinensis is a tropical evergreen shrub.

Chinese Ixora is native to South China and Malaya. It has attractive colourful flowers and rich green foliage on stiff stems illustrates a harmonious flower arrangement.

Established plants usually produce three flower crops a year. Ixora flowers are long-lasting with very short resting periods, plants bloom almost constantly, and they start flowering when small.

Ixora plants like bright light, so if you are growing them indoors, then place them where they can get at least eight to ten hours of sunlight a day.

For Ixora plants outdoors, make sure that they are getting bright indirect sunlight with some direct light, especially in the winter times.

However: Keep them away from harsh direct rays in the summer, which can dry out and burn the leaves if you’re not careful.

Ixora plants love being kept consistently moist. Water them often—the specific amount will depend on the specific environment in your home. A good rule of thumb is that the soil should always look moist, make sure that you water them the moment you notice the top layer of the soil has dried. Decrease watering a bit in the winter time.

Most importantly, remember that Ixora must be planted in acidic soil because alkaline soil can result in yellow foliage. Using acid-forming fertilizer can help counteract soil alkalinity.

(Flowering plants only blossom naturally in their respective seasons. Fruit bearing plants only produce fruits naturally during their growing seasons. All plants are sold in generic nursery pots, and may naturally vary in colors/sizes from the exact images illustrated above.)
