Rosemary Plant Salvia Rosmarinus is Herbaceous Perennial.
Evergreen Rosemary Plant Salvia Rosmarinus is an attractive evergreen shrub with needle-like leaves and brilliant blue flowers. The flowers of evergreen rosemary persist through spring and summer, filling the air with a nice piney fragrance. This beautiful herb, mostly used for seasoning dishes, is also commonly used as ornamental plantings in the landscape.
To keep Rosemary Plant Salvia Rosmarinus happy, give it six to eight hours of full sunlight each day. When growing it indoors, place it in a south-facing window for bright light, but don’t let it get too hot. Grow rosemary in sandy, well-draining soil. This plant is native to the rocky hillsides of the Mediterranean and doesn’t do well if its roots stay wet. Water Rosemary Plant Salvia Rosmarinus when the soil is completely dry. Be careful not to over-water and avoid making the soil soggy (especially when growing in containers), as this leads to root rot.
Outdoors, Rosemary Plant Salvia Rosmarinus can tolerate high temperatures and a wide range of humidity. Most varieties are hardy only down to 30 degrees Fahrenheit. Where temperatures dip below 30 degrees, rosemary plants will have to spend the winter indoors.
Rosemary Plant Salvia Rosmarinus is not a heavy feeder, but fertilizing in spring with a fish/kelp emulsion will get it off to a good start for the season. Periodic foliar sprays with the emulsion will keep it looking great.
Where winter is hardy, grow in herb gardens, rock gardens, seaside gardens, borders or foundations. Ornamental specimen or low hedge, Container plants are attractive additions to patios, decks, and other sunny areas around the home.
Leaves may be used (fresh or dried) in a variety of cooking applications such as stews, bread, stuffing, herbal butter or kinds of vinegar. Leaves also provide excellent flavor to meats, fish, and vegetables.
(Flowering plants only blossom naturally in their respective seasons. Fruit-bearing plants only produce fruits naturally during their growing seasons. All plants are sold in generic nursery pots, and may naturally vary in colors/sizes from the exact images illustrated above.)
