Ruellia Humilis is a herbaceous shrub perennial plant.
Wild petunia is native to the American regions and famously known for their beautiful lavender trumpet-shaped flowers that bloom rapidly in growing seasons.
It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments.
Wild Petunia is a hardy plant that loves to bloom in full sun and throughout the hottest, driest times of summer. This outdoor plant is perfect for the hot Middle Eastern regions.
They bloom for months from late spring to fall, with flowers blossoming rapidly in singles or in clusters.
Their beautiful flowers attract all sorts of insects, such as long tongued bees and butterflies.
Wild Petunia are best grown in full sun and are very adaptable to both moist and dry conditions, although the plant will suffer in any standing water. Therefore, it is best to have a good drainage system, by having holes in the pot.
It is often used as a ‘filler’ in the ‘spiller-thriller-filler’ container combination, providing a mass of flowers against which the thriller plants stand out.
(Flowering plants only blossom naturally in their respective seasons. Fruit bearing plants only produce fruits naturally during their growing seasons. All plants are sold in generic nursery pots, and may naturally vary in colors/sizes from the exact images illustrated above.)
