Spearmint is a Herbaceous perennial plant. 

Spearmint is a highly aromatic, perennial herb grown for its leaves. They are wonderfully infused in, chopped, added to many dishes, or used to make mint sauce (a classic addition to roast lamb) and the best mints for flavor.

Use flowers and leaves fresh or dried in teas, beverages, jellies, syrups, candies, ice creams, lamb dishes, and mint sauce. Mint is used as garden accents, ground covers, and herbal medicines.

Also best grown in a pot as it spreads rampantly.
