Winter Cherry Plant (Solanum Pseudocapsicum) is an erect, bushy evergreen shrub.

Winter Cherry Plant (Solanum Pseudocapsicum) the nickname of the Solanum pseudocapsicum is ‘love apple’, which is no surprise. it’s a romantic shrub that appeals greatly to the imagination because it looks like a mini orange tree. Amidst the dark green, wavy leaves the plant first produces white star-shaped flowers. Once they’re pollinated, they become green berries which turn increasingly orange and remain on the plant. Those berries are poisonous, so you should only use a Winter Cherry as a decorative plant, and keep it out of the reach of small children and pets.

Care and Growth:

Soil: Regular potting soil is fine for solanum pseudocapsicum. It can grow in poor soil but requires good drainage.

Light: require full sun to thrive, but they will survive in moderately bright light.

Water: water the plant regularly as to ensure that the soil is kept moist and does not dry out. It’s important to maintain consistent watering patterns up until the point it either begins to bloom or bear fruit, or once the colder seasons start coming in.

Temperature: Average room temperatures (65-75°F/18-24°C). If you move your plant outdoors for the summer, don’t worry — it can take the heat. If won’t, however, tolerate frost. In the fall and winter months, keeping it on the cool side (around 60°/16°C) will help the fruit to last longer.

Fertilizer: Fertilize with well diluted fertilizer during the growing season (March to September) and not at all in winter.

Flowering plants only blossom naturally in their respective seasons. Fruit-bearing plants only produce fruits naturally during their growing seasons. All plants are sold in generic nursery pots, and may naturally vary in colors/sizes from the exact images illustrated above.)
