Draco Plant (Dracaena Draco) is an evergreen shrub.

Draco Plant is a subtropical tree-like plant native to the Canary Islands. It is a sculptured plant, which creates a beautiful feature in the garden. The young Dragon Tree has a single stem and is very slow growing, at about 10 to 15 years of age the stem stops growing and produces a first flower spike with white lily-like perfumed flowers, followed by coral berries. Soon a crown of buds appear and the plant starts branching which creates a multi-head.

They are very good drought tolerant plants and need minimal amounts of water. They must be planted in a well-drained position.

Care and Growth: 

Light: Full light and shade from hot sun and with moderate humidity

Soil: Well drained, dry sand lots of organic matter. Loves healthy rich soil as long as it is not boggy wet over winter. Dry, poor hard soil often creates chunky solid plants.

Water: For garden-grown trees, natural rainfall is sufficient once established, regular watering isn’t necessary. For plants in large pots, you’ll need to water occasionally when soil is dry to touch.

Temperature: The dragon tree is winter hardy in USDA hardiness zones 9 to 11, surviving outdoor temperatures as low as 40° degrees Fahrenheit.

Fertilizer: Apply soluble / slow release fertilizers. Dragon Tree should be fed 2 times a month in spring and summer, as well as once every 30 days in winter. For this purpose, complex garden fertilizers containing all the necessary nutrients are suitable.
