Care & Growth: 

Watering:

It requires a moderate amount of watering in summer, and only enough to keep it from drying out in the winter. It does not need to be misted.

Light:

Most ficus trees enjoy bright indirect or filtered light with variegated varieties happily able to take medium light. Bright, direct light may result in scalding of the leaves and leaf loss.

Temperature:

Ficus trees also cannot tolerate low temperatures or drafts. They need to be kept in temperatures above 60 F. (16 C.) and actually prefer temperatures above 70 F. (21 C.)

Feeding:

Feed your tree monthly in spring and summer with diluted liquid fertilizer.

Medical Importance:

Its latex and some fruit extracts are used by indigenous communities to treat skin disorders, inflammation, piles, vomiting, leprosy, malaria, nose-diseases and cancer besides the use as a general tonic
