Texas Ranger (Leucophyllum Frutescens) is an outdoor perennial shrub.

Texas Ranger (Leucophyllum Frutescens) is an easy-care beauty that can be grown in your yard or garden plant. This North American native shrub from areas in Texas and Mexico features gorgeous silvery foliage and attractive lavender-purple flowers on and off from spring, through the summer, and into autumn.

The flowers attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. It grows well in containers, as well as garden beds and borders, so there are a number of ways to use Texas Ranger to add beauty to your outdoor spaces. You can often find this plant sold as a bushy shrub or pruned in standard form to look like a miniature tree.

Care and Growth:

Soil: Well drained, dry, low organic content, pH 6.6-8.5 (neutral to alkaline). Do not fertilize once it is established

Light: Spot with full sun at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sun each day. This sun-loving plant will tolerate part shade (areas with morning shade and afternoon sun), but is more likely to grow lanky and bloom less.

Water: Water newly planted Texas sage every five to seven days for a few weeks until it’s well established, allowing the top 2 inches of soil to dry out between watering sessions.

Temperature: Ideal temperature to ensure their healthy growth is 20 to 35 degree Celsius (68 °F to 95 °F)

Fertilizer: Apply a slow release 14:14:14 NPK annually in spring.

Flowering plants only blossom naturally in their respective seasons. Fruit-bearing plants only produce fruits naturally during their growing seasons. All plants are sold in generic nursery pots, and may naturally vary in colors/sizes from the exact images illustrated above.)
