Umbrella Tree (Schefflera Arboricola) are fantastic houseplants with beautiful foliage. They are not difficult to look after and will tolerate some neglect as well as help clean the surrounding air. Schefflera Arboricola, or Umbrella tree, is a native of South East Asia. It is evergreen, with palmate leaves and small umbels of flowers. Grown as an indoor pot-plant in cooler climes.Care and Growth: 

Light: Schefflera plants are medium light plants, which means that they need bright but indirect light.

Soil: Schefflera arboricola feels comfortable in slightly acidic soil. This is why you should aim for a soil pH between 6 and 6.5. Moreover, the perfect soil for Schefflera arboricola should be well-draining.

Temperature: Grows well in average room temperatures between 60 – 75 °F (15 – 24°C) but no lower than 55F (13C) or higher than 75°F (24°C). Avoid sudden temperature drops and cold drafts.

Water: In spring and summer, water your plant frequently to keep the soil slightly moist. Water less in winter. These plants can handle being under-watered for a little while. Watering too often can result in root rot.

Fertilizer: Umbrella plants don’t need regular fertilizer, but for faster growth, you can give your plant a standard diluted plant fertilizer once a month during the summer. Keep the leaves dust-free by wiping with a damp cloth or sponge.
